From Heartbreak to Hope: New Life for Vicki’s Wheelchair
Listen now
Description
This episode of the podcast features the stories two beautiful young women, Vicki and Liz. Though they never met, God wove their lives together through a beloved purple wheelchair and the power of his grace. Vicki lived with profound disabilities. She also exuded joy and made others happy everywhere she went. When she died unexpectedly the day after Mother’s Day at 27 years old, Vicki’s parents, Scott and Laura, were heartbroken beyond belief. They held on to Vicki’s beloved purple wheelchair, too grieved to let it go. But as God brought healing to their hearts, he also brought Vicki’s parents a beautiful idea: to donate their daughter’s wheelchair. Scott and Laura joined our Wheels for the World™ outreach to Mexico, not just as donors, but also as volunteers. They prayed over Vicki’s chair and asked God’s blessing over the person who would receive it. Little did they know that while they were trusting the Lord to match Vicki’s wheelchair with the perfect recipient, Liz’s family was praying for a wheelchair… Tune in to hear this powerful story of God’s love, which brings healing and hope in the midst of the deepest heartbreak.
