it's complicated :/
I've listened since the beginning of this podcast - I've even gone back and repeated a few episodes. Katherine is smart and funny and gives zero fkx about telling acerbic truths. Yes, she calls out men for their bullsht, but on balance she's fair to genders even while having strong opinions (which is ok). But the episode about MLM has really put me off - as KR anticipated. The interview with a successful MLM friend sounds way too close to an induction video and really gives no tangible advice for similar success aside from "work hard, give it your all" - it encourages MLM and promotes it with the same mindset that's so often used to rope people in (often with serious consequences). Interviewing a friend who's made millions from MLM is one thing, but handling this topic responsibly would include speaking to someone who has seen the other side the coin because, without that, the assumption is that if you're not successful, you didn't try hard enough. Ultimately, putting this content out there, particularly so close to World Mental Health Day, just feels like a poor choice.Read full review »
