Dr Alex George is extraordinary!

Description
Just a few years ago, Dr Alex George would not have been a face that you’d have recognised, unless he’d treated you on the A&E wards. That all changed when he won the hearts of millions of fans in the 2018 series of Love Island. He may not have found love in the villa, but he became a much loved face on our screens, going on to use his fame to help spread awareness about mental health.    What makes Dr Alex particularly extraordinary is how he remained so positive during an extremely tough 2020. Whilst most of us were told to stay at home, Dr Alex was on the front line, working day and night treating Covid-19 patients at Lewisham and Greenwich Hospital. He also dealt with tremendous personal loss, as his younger brother, Llŷr, tragically passed away in the midst of the pandemic. In this episode, Dr Alex reflects on the events of last year, sharing what life has been like on the wards, how he found his purpose again after his appearance on Love Island, and how his family is coping with the loss of Llŷr.   See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
