I didn’t know a lot about Robin Williams before diving into this podcast, having grown up with him in roles in movies like Aladdin or Mrs Doubtfire. This podcast served to draw back the curtain and explore the life he had that was often complex, messy and full of turmoil. While there were issues...Read full review »

I’m so distracted by trying to understand how the host can seem to be both over- and under-enunciating at the same time. She’s seriously awful.

There are outtakes we should be hearing that are missing; just blank audio. This needs to be fixed because it sounds like a funny bit.

Wonderful podcast! Robin Williams was a game changer for the comedy world. I am a child of the eighties and grew up watching his movies and loving them. He was a phenomenal actor. After listening to the podcast, I have realized that he was a phenomenal human also. His unique voice is sorely...Read full review »

Very interesting and concise, full of details and audio clips. It was wonderful to have the chance to follow along the path of Robin's rise and eventual drifting down of his brilliant star. He is sorely missed and this was a great and respectful telling of his life that I would recommend to...Read full review »

Three episodes in, and I agree with other reviews, the narrator could use some work. Her diction is poor to the point of being distracting. Journalism is good. The guests are a little tangential at times. Will continue to listen because I’m interested in the life of Robin Williams.

The narrator has a lot of room for improvement. The journalist is quite good however.

This is articulate, riveting, and one of the very best podcasts out there. Your dedication to the family is evident. Thanks so much for this! I look forward to hearing your next work.

This podcast is a must listen if you’re interested in learning about Robin Williams personal life and career. This mini series was super fascinating and definitely worth listening to!

Meh
Narration is very bland and it has some strange guest interviews that took up whole episodes. The story itself is interesting so I stuck it out but fast forwarded a lot.

Binged this series to and from a driving vacation and my husband and I both really enjoyed the details about Robin Williams’ life and career. I was very confused why the clear linear timeline kept getting interrupted by uninteresting guest “hosts” who mostly talked about themselves and only...Read full review »

I had a light interest in Robin Williams but the story is compelling and well told. The host is great and I found myself listening to the whole thing while unpacking and cleaning post holidays. The guy has such an annoying voice and seems to just make random hypothesis abut everything. He doesn’t seem to know much about Robin. The sound editing is terrible- constantly turning volume up and down. You can skip this one.

Dave Itzkoff is a credible and respected journalist and he paints a fascinating and full-spectrum portrait of Robin Williams in this podcast which is compelling even if you’re not a big Robin Williams fan. The fact that he was teamed with a narrator whose nasal, marble in her mouth, Valley Girl...Read full review »

Robin was adored and loved by my family and I. This was thoughtful and full of warmth as it showed all the many sides of this wonderful individual. This podcast is beautifully produced and a pleasant, touching listen. I loved hearing more about the life of one of my favorite comedians, well told. I thought the hosts did a lovely job telling Robin’s story.

Although I didn’t realize that Robin was an addict. It did put his suicide in a new light for me. I thought this podcast was well balanced and well produced.

A fascinating subject told in a bland and mediocre way. The host’s voice really grates on my nerves - her pronunciations are very odd and off and distracting, and it sounds like she has a bubble in her throat.
stephanie.friedl via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/17/19
The series, points out the complexities of a certain person. All that made him who we saw, but fails to offer a connection to “The King Fisher “ and spiral that is each of us. I almost didn’t send this
Musing by Me via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/16/19
This podcast is interesting but the habitual mispronunciations from the hostess are maddeningly distracting. Kittens become ki’ins, mittens become mi’ins, Throckmorton’s becoms Throckmor’ens... very distracting.
Warrnambool via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/16/19
Too bad a podcast about a beloved comedy legend sounds so bland. The narration from the main host sounds overly scripted. The other host at least sounds conversational and alive.

Really enjoying it so far. Looking forward to more episodes. Hopefully this will be an ongoing series. A season on Belushi would be fantastic

I love this show. Was concerned when I saw reviews saying ep 4 had some issues. When I listened, it seemed like it was fixed. Great work! Love these interviews.

The editing on episode 4 is horrible. There are long pauses where there should be audio.

I grew up watching Williams, but didn’t know much about his personal life before starting this podcast. I love how it mixes investigative journalism with genuine human emotion and reactions —bravo staff!

The content on this show is very facinating but it is missing significant chunks of audio (assuming they couldn’t get clearance to use certain bits of Robin Williams’ recordings)

I think this is a great podcast and I’m enjoying it so much.
