“Cancel Culture” is whack
I am curious about the number of people who have rushed to flood 1-star reviews due to a circulation of social media posts (as if things don’t get twisted and is always truthful 🙄) yet have probably never even heard of the podcast before this story or the episode in question. Or they heard of it but didn’t take time out of their day to listen and see what it is about. I also don’t understand why the ladies are being dragged when T.I. is the one who made the appalling comments? As for their reaction, I do believe their apology. I’m sure a lot of ladies have experienced a male say something in a work environment that stunned them and caused nervous/uncomfortable laughter. Contrary to popular belief, it is not always beneficial or even safe to “clap black” for a woman/or anyone. Pick and choose the battles you fight. As for airing it, what I think we have forgotten about is the ability to have dialogue with each other of opposing views. It’s my way or the highway instead or realizing that there is more than one way to get to a conclusion. Doesn’t make any of the other ways wrong. They aired this and this has now shed light on the topic of male dominated/control of the female body and honestly the topic of how somehow... again the women are being dragged for their on the spot reaction vs the male who said the crazy message anyways?! They’ve been forced to speak up and speak out and be accountable for their actions but....... the guy who said the crazy stuff just.... nothing? He ain’t gotta be accountable for his words? Ok. Everyone makes choices that sometimes back fire on them. Growth happens when you reflect, learn, adjust, and keep it moving. People act like you can’t grow and develop after setbacks and that’s not fair. Cause if you were trying to grow/develop I’m sure you would want the same understanding when you misstep and would get frustrated if people threw your mistakes back in your face for the rest of your life. I personally love this podcast. I have been a fan of Nazanin and her energy for over 7 years, so it is cool to kind of hear their energy/personality. No, I don’t agree with everything they say but I appreciate the perspectives they give. Everyone’s perspective of something is different due to the lens of their life. My favorite episode was with Torri Shack. Hearing her story made me feel like I wasn’t alone. Especially as someone who is considered high functioning. If you deal with depression, drug abuse, anxiety.. I recommend listening to that episode.
