“Knee jerk reaction is one thing. Egging that antiquated man on for 10 minutes and then airing it for publicity are completely different. That’s not knee jerk. I’m not even sure you get to claim knee jerk reactions when you’re publicly speaking on a program that will be aired at a later date. Taking it off air once you get a backlash is not an apology, it’s a cover and trying to erase the evidence that they took part in some poor girl’s humiliation. Letting some misogynistic man have a public forum to talk about how he makes his daughter get her virginity checked then pressuring her to break doctor patient confidentiality is sick. Not chastising this man simply bc he is a famous rapper is sad. They should be taken off the air, a stock apology is simply not enough these days. It’s so easy to backtrack and apologize these days and then wash your hands of anything. Stop letting celebrities simply apologize through a publicist and move on while the victims are left in the dust to pick up theirs lives. Human rights violations are not funny”
