Officially done with The LadyGang
I used to love The Ladygang. I went to shows, bought the book & merch, and never missed an episode. However, throughout the years the hosts have really started to become grating. I was never a particularly huge fan of Keltie, I just didn’t relate to her at all, but I appreciated the fact that she worked so hard to create The Ladygang and the huge online community I’d come to love so much. However, I’ve just seen too many instances of her saying insensitive things, acting selfishly, and putting her foot in her mouth time and time again and never learning from her mistakes. She has been corrected many times by LGers in the Facebook group (over things like insensitivity re: comments during the BLM movement, trying to force LG subgroups to advertise the new LG book despite some groups existing for sensitive purposes like TTC and grief, berating community members about why they haven’t bought the new book during a time when people are struggling to afford basic necessities) and her behavior hasn’t changed. It is mystifying to watch a grown woman make so many huge missteps, cry “poor me,” then delete her posts time and time again when people try to hold her accountable. If she’d show herself to be capable of accepting constructive criticism and able to take accountability for her mistakes I would give the podcast another chance, but she’s had many chances and continues to be insensitive toward the community she created and act selfishly time and time again. It makes me sad, but I am done with the Lady Gang.
