The video, which garnered over 17 million views on Instagram before being deleted, showed what appeared to be Ms Bhatt participating in the GRWM (Get Ready With Me) trend. The Centre has shown urgency in tackling the menace of deepfakes. Just yesterday, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the government has looked at best practices for dealing with deepfakes from across the world, and the Centre is looking at addressing this with legislation, not just with advisories.
