Her theory - that the actions of a man in the 19th century (which now contradict revisionist 2024 values), can be best attributed to the internalised hatred of a repressed and physically weak homosexual with a high pitched laugh (stereotype), evokes a trope which seems quite tired. “Always enjoy listening. Fascinating insights to ponder. A good balance from Afua and Peter. I didn’t think I would enjoy the series on Hoover but I have been transfixed from the first episode.
