Every week we take two legends in history, investigate what brought them to the public eye, and look at the sources that can verify, or disprove their existence. Our topics range from biographies of legendary people, to spells cast with a Unicorn horn. Adam is an American journalist who is new to the supernatural and Isadora is a History major from England who believes that without legends history would be very boring indeed!

Isadora covers Queen Charlotte and looks at how her real life differed from her Bridgerton persona - including how she is Englands first black Queen. Adam, who is in the middle of finals, does a quick Greek myth where everyone dies!

If these guys were in D&D Adam would be a half orc warlock or maybe like a bearkin and Dora would be probably a human wizard if you put a gun to her head, but maybe just an NPC shop owner who stands up for tieflings at parties.
In one episode Adam says mushrooms when he means marshmallows and Dora accidentally calls Protestants prostitutes. It’s good.

As someone who frequently finds herself down Wikipedia holes, this is such an interesting and satisfying podcast! There’s a great variety of folklore, urban legends, and real-life historical events, ranging from downright creepy to fascinating to educational. Adam and Isadora’s banter is very fun and makes it an enjoyable listen.
I have been guilted!
I couldn’t review on Overcast but you have sufficiently guilted me into opening Apple podcasts again. The Legendary Tales is a fun layperson’s take on the myriad myths and legends of human culture. It’s an easy-going, light-hearted podcast that just seems like two friends who are eager to share the stories they’ve learned about over the week.
I’d love to hear a story on the Hydra, or one on yetis/abominable snowmen!
