Beginning gardener here... third year in. Steve and Danielle — and Peter, of course — have been a huge part of my plant education. I can just imagine how this podcast came about... Some poor Fine Gardening employee couldn’t take any more of their good-natured bickering during staff meetings , and broke in, “Dear lord, can’t you guys argue about plants on your own time? Do a podcast or something.” (It was probably Peter. And... who is Peter anyway? Does he have a surname?)

I like Carol a lot and still enjoy the podcast, but I do miss the interplay between Steve and Danielle. There’s no one now to correct Danielle’s egregious botanical mispronunciations and frequent misuse of words. Please, I beg you…Anemone is pronounced An-e-MONEY, not An-ENEMY!

The Q and A episode is an good example about what bothers me about this show. They recommend that a person with a small urban garden grow any kind of goldenrod in order to support wildlife.
