I really enjoy the podcast. I first heard about Mike from his infamous “F*ck you pay me” talk. When I heard about the podcast I was excited and immediately tried it out. Was not disappointed. The tips on design and running a design business are helpful and I even enjoy some off the topics of...Read full review »

The show starts with a whinny voice giving you a long list of names, not sure who they are. Who starts a podcast like that? What an intro... I couldn't figure out how to get past it. Then move into a political conversation where they rant to themselves about how smart they are and how dumb...Read full review »

I find this type of work fascinating and the non work topics make me keep coming back after years.

The level of paranoia is embarrassing and only surpassed by the ignorance of reality. Get your tin foil hat ready.

Sounds more like aimless talk. Too casual. Have not mentioned design once and I've been listening for about 20 minutes about Florida weather, manatees, and pythons. Lost my interest.Read full review »

I miss Jessie as cohost. With JC it seemed like Mike was a lot more comfortable bantering back and forth about popular culture and news, whereas now the show seems focused mostly on design and SF-local issues. That makes the show less interesting if you’re not working in design in the Bay Area....Read full review »

I tried three episodes and couldn't make it through any of them. The other negative reviews have said it all - instead of a podcast about design this is a podcast of mostly useless banter that's not entertaining. Hard pass on this one.Read full review »

Lovingly crafted by moronic leftist political opinions. Sometimes it's okay. Except for when you donate and they don't read out your name -- even if you did put down 'Ayn Rand'. ;-)

I don’t like Mike. However, What he says is 100% right 100% of the time and he knows everything. That’s why I listen to him. Also his co-host is the bomb (dot) com. They give useful information regarding the industry I work in and cut through it with a no-nonsense thought process (quick as a...Read full review »

Love tuning into Jessie and Mike talk about design and the world at large. I love the realness of these two and their dynamic works really well.

The reviewers leaving one and two stars may be missing the point, I'm afraid. This show is not about covering topics nonstop. It's about thinking. Thinking can sometimes be a slow and tedious process. But in the end, you are better off than you were before. My only complaint is that...Read full review »

First, Mike can be funny, but he THINKS he's Marc Maron funny, when he's really only a little funnier than Jessie Char, which is cruel to say, but true. Second, Jessie's voice is the most nails-on-chalkboard experience in podcastdom. I found myself fast-forwarding every time she...Read full review »

When Mike talks about design, that's really thoughtful and he's right like all the time. Listening to him makes me a better designer.

It's incredible just how ridiculous people can be. This podcast exemplifies self importance and petty viewpoints. You want design commentary and news? Look *anywhere* else. This is a severe waste of time.Read full review »

If there was't a Mike Monteiro we would have to invent him. Kind of a revolving door of co-hosts, but all of whom have been great. Not for those with short attention spans, nor those who need a beginning, a middle, and an end. Or a plot. Or a laugh track. This show meanders, but there is...Read full review »

The topics are fine but Leah please please please stop going "mh", "great", "right" every 2.5 seconds while Mike is talking. I find this pretty annoying and it makes the whole thing hard to listen to.

Sorry, I meant Gillum, and this is crazy, so I'll edit it maybe? Reich is nasally, old and frumpy. Bad enough that I have to hear Grandpa Monteiro, now we got Bubbie Reich. Hire someone with a sexy voice like Jesse Char.

I loved this podcast. Now I can't even listen to it. Leah had big shoes to fill when Katie left, and frankly doesn't even come close. She is, unfortunately, a terrible foil for Mike. A friend in the design business recommended this podcast, and I'd watched the video of Mike at Creative Mornings, so thought subscribing would be a "can't miss." But the episode I picked to listen to, #60, turned out to be a big miss. It wasn't until the 11th minute that I...Read full review »

Very entertaining and informative. They do go off topic a lot, but I quite enjoy that (Except when they talk about sport, but that's a personal preference). There's a good chemistry between the presenters and it leads to some hilarious banter.

This podcast reminded me why as a designer myself, I can't stand talking to so many other designers.
