Episodes
It's Labor Day and Lewis also just celebrated a birthday. With those two things in mind we're presenting you a Best Of for this week's episode of The Rantcast. In the spirit of our half-hearted attempt to turn Lewis into a food influencer in his post-touring life, we present a Best Of: Food Rants for you all. Some from fans, some from the man himself, all about food.
Enjoy, Lewis will return next week.

Lewis is back from Vegas and after the travel nightmare story from last week, there’s still a lot from the travel that pissed him off. In fact, he didn’t even get the chance to share what his Vegas experience was like (hint, a lot has changed) and how he’s now even more committed to his idea of a new hotel there on the strip. At the same time, the DNC National convention just wrapped and there’s a lot of talk about the vibes that came out of Chicago. While he is still trying to grasp what...

Lewis was just in Las Vegas performing and while the shows went great, the flight home was anything but. It was as he described it as one of the worst travel experiences of his life. Which is saying a lot for someone whose made a living on the road traveling for decades. This trek included heavy storms, grounded planes, storms, boarding planes, de-boarding planes, and Buffalo. And somewhere in the midst of the chaos he got a buffalo chicken wing omelet, so perhaps it wasn't all...

Lewis is back on the road to complete the final leg on his final tour (dates at www.lewisblack.com) and he has a couple warm-up dates lined up before the fall starts. Mostly to re-learn his act since he’s been trying his hardest to maximize downtime this summer. With dates in Cleveland last weekend and a couple shows in Las Vegas this weekend the road also brings great things like the chance to eat some terrific food. While Lewis might not consider himself a foodie, he certainly does...

Why that title? Because it’s a great metaphor for Lewis’ golf game. On in which he recently spent time in Maine working on. While there, Lewis took the time to keep ownership of his summer. For anyone who has followed the Rantcast for a while knows that summer is our time and should be politics free. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be possible these days. Why? Because VP running mates are being chosen and political nepotism has led us to dead bears being dumped in Central Park. If you...

One would think after last week’s whirlwind of news that this week would be somewhat quieter, but you would be wrong. With an election season heating up it seems the news is coming from everywhere. One of the biggest stories of the week being the constant flow of idiotic things said by GOP Vice Presidential hopeful, JD Vance. Whom seemed to put his foot in his mouth with each passing day, encouraging Lewis to declare the “JD” stands for “Just Dumb.” But it’s not all politics as the Olympics...

Well, somehow the news was even crazier than it was last week, if that's even possible. The weekend began with computers across the world crashing and sending things into turmoil and then it with Joe Biden dropping out of the 2024 Presidential race. Something that has not happened decades. This all causing us to ask, will the fun ever stop? It's a good thing prepped for the weekend with a quick stop in Atlantic city for plenty of subs and gambling. Join Lewis as he attempts to make sense of...

Things are insane! It seems we decided to take a speed run through current events this past weekend. One story alone was enough to make your head spin. But over the course of 72 hours, America was hit with not only an attempted assassination of a former-President-turned-current- candidate. Then, a day later a Florida judge made a controversial decision about the same former-President-turned-current-candidate. Then, a day after that former-President-turned-current-candidate selected someone as...

This past week was Independence day and it seems the world has gone mad. Most of the country is in the midst of a heatwave. The press is having a field day with our candidates in a Presidential election that costs too much money. But it’s also going on for too long and leaking into a previously-declared politics-free summer. The GOP candidate is doing his darndest to erase all the progress of the 20th Century with the worst of takes on pretty much every social issue while the Dems are coming...

What a wild week, so much has happened in the world. One thing is enough to make your ears bleed, but we in the US are dealing with more than one thing. To sum it all up, we have people who can't say the truth while others need to come to grips with it. The debates, SCOTUS decisions, re-elections, church and state, it all seemed to come to a head this week, time to unpack it all.

The 10 commandments have been in the news a lot lately and Lewis is here to tell us there is an 11th one. And it might be the most important of them all. Whether it be your approach to family, politics, or something else. It’s time to abide by his new commandment.

Lewis stars in the new Pixar film, Inside Out 2 reprising his role as the character of Anger in the film. The film landed atop the box office opening weekend and to date is has the best opening weekend in 2024. So congratulations are in order for our favorite animated emotion. Lewis spent the days leading up to the release doing press with his fellow cast members at Disneyland California before attending the movie's premiere. And on this week's episode of the Rantcast (recorded before the...

It's Summer and with that comes a very simple message from Lewis, which is to just keep your mouth shut! Lewis has always lobbied for the politics-free summer and he's taking a stance. June, July, and August are times for us to relax, eat some fatty foods, and sip on a few cocktails. Once the air gets a bit colder does it become the time for us to start talking about the politics of life. So, until then SHUT THE F*CK UP!

Lewis has returned from performing shows in Europe. One of the first things he learned of upon landing was the 34 guilty indictments handed down to Donald Trump by a jury of New Yorkers. The combination of these two events has given him a new perspective, which he's more than willing to share on this week's Rantcast.

Happy Memorial Day to you all. Hopefully the long weekend treated you well as we all kept those in our armed forces top of mind. Lewis is wrapping up an European run of shows and will be on a plane headed back to the states by the time you read this. Since ranting into a camera on a plane high in the sky is probably not the best look for someone, Lewis pre-loaded this episode while he was still on the ground (and about to head out to record an episode of The Daily Show) so you can all...

Lewis is still in Europe performing some dates long his tour. While he's spending time in a foreign land he prepared some other rants live from a recent run in the South )Tennessee and Atlanta) and the Midwest (Wisconsin and Minnesota). The US dates of the Goodbye Yellerbrick Road tour pick back up in August, but there will be plenty of Rantcast for you until then. Enjoy.

With Lewis in Europe, it's only fitting to call this episode just that. While those overseas stand-up shows are going well, here's a collection of rants prepared just for you to hold you over until Lewis lands back in the US.

Lewis is headed overseas, but he left the fans with a stellar episode of The Rantcast. Like many of you, he's having a hard time understanding why a South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem bragged about her animal abuse, why NYC mayor Eric Adams is an idiot, the college campus protests, and ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. It's enraging for all. But perhaps the silver lining of all this might be the promising season of Baltimore Orioles and their hopes to restore some sanity for Lewis...

Lewis it out on the road and enjoying his time performing in front of the fans. So much in fact that he once again brought back The Rant Is Due live from a recent stop in Iowa City (home of Caitlin Clark) where some of the Hawkeye State's finest ranters submitted their hot takes on everything from government officials to their own daughters. It was a wild one out at the Englert Theater in Iowa City.

We have a special episode of Lewis Black's Rantcast this week. Lewis is on the road and during a stop in Nashville this weekend (on 4/20) he decided to perform a live The Rant Is Due livestream for the first time in a long time. It was a thoroughly enjoyable time so we decided bring that live event to you all for episode 170 of the Rantcast.
Enjoy these rants live from the James K. Polk Theater in Nashville, TN.

It was a week of happenings, not just for Lewis but for the nation as we experienced not only the Solar Eclipse, but a large earthquake for a swath of people in the East. Lewis found himself in Arizona for a charity golf outing, still managing to see the eclipse. Was it the advertised 75% darkness it was advertised as? Maybe not. Unfortunately, the usual crazies bubble up with conspiracy theories around these natural phenomenon (of course). Other newsworthy events include the dreaded annual...

The madness of the year has already gotten to us, and if it’s going to continue through the already-declared politics-free summer, perhaps its time to get out of dodge and head on up to the National Comedy Center in Jamestown, NY?
What nonsense is happening this week? First off, can anyone fluent in finance explain how Truth Social makes money? While we’re at it, can someone also tackle inflation? While on the topic of explaining things, a Michigan rep could use some help identifying a...

Being born and raised in the greater Baltimore area, the news on the Francis Scott Key bridge collapse elicits Lewis laments on how it should be repaired. It also appears the level of satire have reached an all-time high between Donald Trump deciding to become a bible salesman and Alabama doing away with diversity programs in its universities. But it doesn’t end there as the Supreme Court is currently hearing arguments over mifepristone and it just reminds Lewis that being a lawyer can...

How's your bracket doing? The NCAA College Basketball tournament is Lewis' favorite sporting event of the year. It also serves as a good distraction from the lunacy of the day. A Spring that doesn't seem to have sprung yet. An election cycle that goes on and on. A former President's many, many days in court. Boeing's continued lack of quality control, and perhaps most traumatizing... the discontinuation of dollar hot dog night in Philly.
