Hi, I am Dr. Diane – Boy Mom, Immigrant, Visionary and career pivot strategist with a passion for seeing health professionals thrive. As a former clinician, I’d also reached a point in my career where I needed a find new professional path; and through several purposeful moves, I was able to successfully grow my career in healthcare with impactful global reach. It was scary transitioning from the known into the unknown at first, but I braved the challenge and learned some incredibly valuable lessons along the way; such as how to identify a niche area in which I could thrive, build a strong professional network, and strategically grow my profile - all of which helped me to comfortably pivot into new spaces in line with my career and life goals. And I am excited to share these nuggets with you!

In today's episode, I address the issue of people's reluctance to invest in preparing themselves for a job or career they will love. Typically, people don't think twice about spending money on all sorts of self-indulgences, but find it hard to actually make an investment into their career development that will pay dividends for the long term. Many stay stuck in jobs they hate, while avoiding solutions that will help them get out of the work contexts that drain the life out of them.
