A superb edition of the life of Alexander
This podcast goes into fantastic detail on the life of Alexander, the background to his life, and the impact and consequences of his death. It gives this information with humour, wit, context, modern parallel, music, and a genuine warmth between the hosts. I really enjoy this podcast and have learnt a lot. I can tell my Perdiccas from my Parmenion, and, thanks to also-excellent sister-podcast Life of Caesar, my Appian from my Arrian. At the height of Big Al's achievements the story seemed a little bit comic book, but through Alexander's decline and the fascinating Wars of the Diadoch the podcast has been at its best: analysing what it must have been like to be there and making modern parallels. I thoroughly recommend it.
