“The Life of Caesar Podcast is worth your time if you like history. They are a coupla knowledgable guys who don't take themselves too seriously to have a little fun. Their tangents remind me of my own... which reminds me of the time when (every day in school) I get distracted by something that reminds me of Roman or WW1 History and I say to my students: "This reminds me of the time when Crassus was killed by his enemies pouring molten silver down his throat..." and the students groan and tell me that "It's not history class, it's vocabulary"... or when, as today, I think to explain Cartesian dualism with the aside that "I like to slip a little college-level philosophy into my fifth-grade lectures whenever I can…"
And … er… oh. yeah. so check it out. accessible history.
I'm also glad to get their opinions on these things, too, which straightforwardly-academic podcasts either don't offer or pretend not to offer but do in a slight-of-hand kind of way...”Read full review »
