Ep 21 - James Rice (@jsrice00)
This episode James and I talk deep trauma. It may be triggering to some listeners
On this episode I have James Rice. James is a Midwest American photographer whose roots in photography go back to the days of black and white film in the late 1950's. James’s goal is to document the ordinary moments of life that we too often take for granted that are simply part of the human condition. I try to capture not only the authenticity of the ordinary moment, but the precise moment when the ordinary has a touch of magic associated with it.
Quote From James
"My goal is to document the ordinary moments of life that we too often take for granted that are simply part of the human condition. I try to capture not only the authenticity of the ordinary moment, but the precise moment when the ordinary has a touch of magic associated with it. Most of my urban work has taken place on the streets of Chicago, but I have spent time in Indianapolis, Asheville, New Orleans, and New York City. For many years, I have also been documenting life in rural Indiana and other parts of rural America. There is a quiet rural catastrophe that is resulting in a significant degradation of the quality of life in small towns and counties. There is both great sadness and strange beauty associated with the loss.”

Monique Campbell observes the light that shines through the cracks illuminating the world both literally and figuratively.
