“Let me begin by saying I love these ladies, especially Sheryl. She is magnificent, caring, tactful, and considerate in her responses on the IG page. However, there are moments I feel like Lauren’s opinions dominate. Sharing thoughts outside of what Lauren’s are seem to be a slippery slope, so the reviews in turn become a bit one-dimensional. Also, all of the book selections seem to be the same genre. I happen to like Verity, as it was very different from the standard, overly-hyped Hoover formula, yet it was evident that since it departed from Hoover’s typical “style,” it was trampled on in their review. If you enjoy rom-com-ish books with a bit of mystery peppered in, this podcast is for you! For those who enjoy other genres, even the occasional biography, you won’t feel completely at home with this podcast. It is for sure within their means to do whatever they want, but just wanted to let the readers know that the books they review are basically reiterations of the same types of books.”
