Angela offers up a great forum to learn about new books and bookish things. I enjoyed my own conversation with her about my book, but the episodes with Reeves Wiedeman and Adrienne Westenfeld were such treats as well.

Such delightful and fascinating conversations! Whether I’ve read the book or not I always am left with a new perspective.

Absolutely loved this interview with the author of Three Women. Insightful, intelligent and thoughtful conversation between two writers about how the book became what it was. The best interview I have listened to with her.

Excellent episode with Vicki, the 70-something memoirist.

Thank you for this smart podcast. Angela I love your interview style. I love the quiet nature of these interviews missing so often in podcasts.

I subscribed to this after watching Angela elegantly handle an interview during noise and evacuation at the Sydney Writers Festival. Listen to this not just for the writers, who are amazing, but for how Angela creates an incredible space for them to open up and have new insights about their work...Read full review »

I love this podcast! Angela is incredibly relatable, intelligent, well read and delightful to listen to. She manages to secure interviews with an extroardinary number of the world's top writers, from Salman Rushdie to Ann Patchett. Amazing.Read full review »

Intelligent, thoughtful and thought-provoking conversations about literature and life with a range of fantastic guests. It’s made me love some of my favourite authors even more!

I listen to every book podcast I can find and this one isn't like anything else I've heard. It's so authentic and unvarnished, more like a conversation between a friend and a writer that you're happy to overhear. The host's style is gentle and intelligent and even though her...Read full review »

Angela is a sympathetic interview who sometimes lets her enthusiasm take over, but this is easy to forgive as she has an adictive radio presence. She mainly concentrates on female writers and fiction, which is a pity. It would have been nice to see her go for a wider range.

I enjoy the content of this podcast. Angela really does score interviews with many of our greatest writers. However most weeks the podcast is unlistenable because the sound levels are so messed up. The host is hundreds of decibels louder than her guests. It really is a shame because many weeks I...Read full review »

Love this podcast! Can’t believe what great authors they have on!

This is the best podcast I have found that relates to books. Each episode is an interview with a single author, so you really feel you get to know something about that person and their work. It has steered me toward certain books and enriched my reading experiences. While it is true that in at...Read full review »

Angie is a wonderful host and picks interesting and engaging writers to interview. By the end of the podcast I want to run out and buy whomever's new book. Keep up the good work! I appreciate that most of the writers are women.Read full review »

I am so grateful that I discovered this podcast, in my search for something beyond OnBeing, This American Life and political podcasts. The authenticity of your voice - your curiosity and vulnerability - creates wide open spaces for writers to share not only their craft but also their humanity....Read full review »

great interviews and great guests, but the audiomix is horrible. Recorded way quieter than all my other podcasts but also varying wildly in terms of levels across individual episodes. Too hard to listen to and gave up :(

I've been listening to this podcast for a few weeks and have gone back and started to listen to all of the back episodes bc it's so fantastic. The interviews with Sarah Hepola and Lidia Yuknavitch were so smart and touching and brilliant and emotional. I subscribe to a bajillion bookish...Read full review »

I was disappointed in the culturally narrow point of view of the podcast. If you don't mind hearing Jay McInerney poke fun at homeless people purchasing wine or comparing a Chardonnay to Pamela Anderson, this is for you.Read full review »

The women on the show are intelligent and fun, and have great, non-standard questions they ask their guests. I always have a pen with me when I listen to this podcast- so I remember to read the books they mention!

It’s so much fun to listen to Angela and Emily chatting about books, reading, writing, and their lives, that I almost don’t want the guest segment to start. But when the guest joins them, things are even better - it’s still smart, charming people talking about books and their lives, but there’s...Read full review »
