Description
Aaron Ashby wasn't as sharp as he could be in the Brewers' 3-1 win on Wednesday night, but he still pitching into the sixth inning for the first time in his young Big League career and set a new career-high in strikeouts. With the K's, also came a career-high in walks with five of them. Yet even despite all of the traffic against him, Ashby only yielded one hit, not coming until the sixth inning, and then handing it to the bullpen who slammed the door on the Pirates. The Brewers were scalding baseballs left and right but the chilly sub 40º air in Pittsburgh killed the flight of the baseball. Both teams struggled with offense in the conditions, but Tyrone Taylor's 106 MPH line drive into left scored the go-ahead run for Milwaukee in the sixth inning. Josh Hader also made history in this contest, matching John Axford for second place on the Brewers all-time save leaderboard. Wednesday night marked number 106 in his career, and all three outs were recorded via K, same ol Haderade. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
