Recently, Steve Sarkisian acknowledged that he did not have the depth that him and his staff prefer in the defensive tackle room. That makes sense, when you consider this team lost three valuable pieces in T'vondre Sweat, Byron Murphy and Trill Carter this year. Nick Saban's retirement has done Texas well, this offseason. Not only did it result in three alabama players transferring, it indirectly lead to Texas picking up two defensive tackles from Arizona, the latest being Bill Norton #HookEm

Texas held their annual orange and white scrimmage this past Saturday, and it's impossible not to be excited not only about this season, but years to come on the 40 acres. Dominant performances from Arch Manning, Isiah Bond and Ryan Wingo, amongst others are the storyline from an exceptional day in Austin this past Saturday. #HookEm

It's that time of the year where we get updates every single day about who is entering the portal and where they are committing to, because now such is life in college athletics. Both the Men and Women's basketball teams at The University of Texas made it to the NCAA tournament, but only the women will be moving on to the Sweet 16. As a one seed, the woman were dominant, beating Alabama and Drexel by a combined 51 points, while the Texas men were able to overcome a dreadful shooting performance to beat Colorado State but couldn't do it twice to beat Rick Barnes and the Tennessee Volunteers. #HookEm

Survive and advance is the theme of this time of year and the Longhorns found a way to beat Colorado State last night in what was an ugly game for both parties. Max Abmas and Dylan Disu only scored 24 points on 33 shots, but the others stepped in and held their own, as well as the Texas defense holding the Rams to 29 percent shooting from the field and forcing 19 Colorado State turnovers. We now know all twelve of the opponents that the Texas Longhorns Football team will face off against in their second season in the SEC. Yesterday, the conference opponents were revealed, showing that Texas is effectively completing a home and home with all of their 2024 conference opponents. Also, Texas hosted pro day for their future NFL athletes and players such as Xavier Worthy, Adonai Mitchell and Byron Murphy certainly elevated their draft stocks. #HookEm

The Longhorns men and women's basketball teams both set out on their journeys for National Championships this week, as they look to bring home another trophy to the 40 acres. The men are a seven seed in the Midwest Region and the women are a one seed in one of the Portland regionals. Does either squad have a realistic chance of bringing home the trophy?

Vic Shaefer has now led the Texas women's basketball team to two conference championships in the last three seasons, including their latest one in the last year of the Big 12 conference. Last season ended in disappointing fashion in the tournament, as the Longhorns were unsuccessful in defending their title against the Iowa State Cyclones. They got revenge last night winning that game by 17, on the back of 26 points on all buckets to beat Iowa State. Texas is a projected 2 seed

It's officially March Madness, and the Big 12 tournament kicks off today. Although the Texas Longhorns aren't playing today, they look to win the tournament for the second consecutive year and third in the last four years but face an uphill battle.
