A large chunk of Detroit Red Wings spoke to the media Thursday as the season comes to an end. The over-arching theme was definitely the frustration at falling just short, but the optimism the team has looking froward. Moritz Seider, David Perron and Lucas Raymond all made it clear that they love it here and want to be here. Patrick Kane on the other hand was much more ambiguous about his return.

Detroit did not play well in this hockey game. But like they have been doing, they snatched victory from defeat with a goal form Perron with 3 seconds left. Unfortunately the Flyers, who needed a Detroit regulation loss and their own regulation win, did not get the memo. The Flyers pulled their goalie not knowing they were eliminated, gifting the Capitals a game-winning ENG. Clinching the final playoff spot. It sucks

The Detroit Red Wings SURGE in the 3rd to comeback and win after a lackluster performance in the first two periods, forcing an all or nothing Game 82. And who else but Lucas Raymond to not just tie it, but WIN it in OT. He now has 31 goals, 40 assists and 71 points. Alex DeBrincat also scored for his 3rd goal in two games and JT Compher scored two of his own to keep Detroit in it after their piss poor start. That being said, horrible first 40 riddled with poor puck movement, defensive...

But in overtime, Dylan Larkin scored his career most 33rd goal of the season to keep Detroit alive another day.

The top line went absolutley nuts in this hockey game. DeBrincat and Larkin had 3 point nights, but none were as impactful as Lucas Raymond who scored his 2nd career hattrick enroute to a 4-point night. Their combined performances forced a huge 3rd period comeback and allowed Detroit to steal a point from the Penguins to keep the Red Wings playoff hopes alive with 3 games remaining. Unfortunatley, Not much else about this game was great. No depth support, defensive errors, a flaccid powerplay...

The Detroit Red Wings came out hot in the first period, as they put up 3 quick goals from Lucas Raymond, Patrick Kane, and Dylan Larkin before Buffalo pushed back the rest of the game. But luckily Alex Lyon and Moritz Seider had their back. Lyon allowed just one goal on 38 shots, and Seider blocked 10 himself, to take the league lead in blocked shots. The Red Wings perservered in Tampa and secured an incredibly important road win to keep their season alive, as well as secure the season sweep of the Lightning. Alex Lyon strung together his 4th straight strong start, as he turned away 34 shots in this game, and has .934sv% in his last four. Jake Walman returned in this game as well, adding versatility to the left side of the defense. And Moritz Seider played 25 minutes with 8 blocked shots for Detroit. #LGRW

Jeff Petry played his worst game in a Red Wings uniform, directly causing three goals against. Meanwhile he played more than Seider and Chiarot who were fantastic. That is a monumental failure. Reimer was good, until he wasn't. And without Patrick Kane (and Austin Czarnik) in the lineup due to illness, the offense was stifled even more against an oppresive Hurricanes team
