Remarkably insightful
From the first episode alone, this podcast created by Jamie Loftus is incredibly smart about deconstructing the novel Lolita. I come to this as someone who has never read Lolita previously and held the perception basically of “ew!”. But Jamie so expertly leads us through the plot/themes of Lolita to explain what is really described and how that has been ignored or twisted in media subsequently. I’ll be a TA for Women’s Studies in spring and I will most definitely recommend this to the students I’ll be working with. For such heavy topics (sexual assault, sexism, gender & media), I’m incredibly interested in listening to the next episode of Loftus’s beyond well-constructed work.

Jamie Loftus simply rules. She’s a top podcast host/creator, and Lolita Podcast is, one episode in, really good. I have no choice but to stan.
