Welcome to Look What You Made Me Read, the podcast all about books and forcing your best friend to read the books you want to read, with host Val and Cat. Every week one of us will be recommending a book to the other and we’ll be (unprofessionally) reviewing it and going into detail about everything we loved and/or hated about it! Please leave a review and feel free to follow our socials! Beware we will be discussing spoilers!

Pride & Prejudice & Pittsburg - Rachael Lippincott
It's our second episode for Saphic Month! This time we read Pride & Prejudice & Pittsburg by Rachael Lippincott! A fun time travel romance book! We also have a tragic case of Taylor brain and have been having a hard time thinking of anything that isn't The Tortured Poets Department! So obviously we have to discuss and talk about our favourite songs and parts of the album!

Forget Me Not - Alyson Derrick
Welcome to Sapphic month! We cover the YA solo debut from Alyson Derrick, talk about a queer Romeo and Juliet retelling and draft Taylor Swift's Lover album.
Disclaimer: Apologies for some sound issues this episode. Val's mic was playing up and Cat's dog Neville wanted to get involved - we hope you still enjoy! -
The Duke & I (Bridgerton) - Julia Quinn
The last book for our Book Adaptation Month is going to be The Duke and I by Julia Quinn which was popularized by the Netflix series Bridgerton! We are rather stuck on one particular scene from this book and we have a lot of opinions about it!
(and it wouldn't be an episode with a little Taylor game!)

Leave the World Behind - Rumaan Alam
Time to dive into our second movie adapted book, Leave the World Behind, which made waves on Netflix! But before we do, we continue our Taylor Swift ranking and Cat tries to convince us she's not shady, just lazy.

The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Welcome to March our official Book adaptation month! Where we will be reading books that have either turned into a movie or TV show! And we're starting off with a big one! The classic The Great Gatsby and we compare it to the 2012 Baz Luhrmann version of The Great Gatsby movie!
We also play a little game where Val tests Cat's skills when it comes to ranking! And you know it has to involve Taylor Swift!

The Cruel Prince - Holly Black
We're back with our TikTok BookTok rundown! This week we discuss The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, a dark YA fantasy about faeries that, if you have a TikTok account, you've most likely heard of. We also deep dive into some book pet peeves to see if we agree.
Customer Reviews
Painfully slow and uninformed
Listened to the episode about The Memory Police by Yoko Ogawa. Literally sat through more than 30 minutes of babble about these women's personal lives, other books they've read and movies they've watched before even mentioning the book in question. When they finally got around to it, the comments made me wonder if they even read it. "I have no idea what I just read," and so on. Well, then what makes you qualified to do a podcast about it? One woman remarked that the book reminded some of George Orwell's 1984 and the other woman replied, "Well, I've never read that, so I wouldn't know." Please start a new podcast about a subject you actually understand.
