Good podcast but not without its minor problems
Overall, I thought this was a good podcast. It was well presented, carried the story line well and kept it interesting. They also did an excellent job humanizing the victim and his family which is often overlooked in true crime stories. However, I did have a few issues with it. The host seemed to push the sympathy for the accused a bit too much and glossed over ballistic evidence that clearly identified the shooter. Also, entirely too much time and credence is given to the tea leaf reading local who inexplicably has the ear of the local sheriff. No matter how much local influence she has, she should have been dismissed after one episode. The last thing to mention is both good and bad. The good - the regular season ending was by far one of the best endings to a podcast. The bad - the two bonus episodes. While the Witness episode was heart wrenching, it offered nothing to the story and the witness saw absolutely nothing. The second with the accused’s half-sister offered very little insight into anything. I would recommend this podcast but feel free to skip the bonus episodes.

Interesting case so far. I am enjoying the journalist but the editing has been quite sloppy, especially in episode 3.

More plastic than actual human flesh, this 50 something year old has her hands in various, non related...Read full review »
