“It has been 24 hours since I started this podcast and I’m writing this review 10 seconds after it ended.
Dana Goodyear has a great way of pacing the words. The story is elegantly arranged to feel organic and allow the listener to change their perspective with new information that doesn’t feel like it was held back on purpose for effect.
This is an incredibly tragic story. It would be almost impossible to tolerate if it was told by a less talented team. But it’s a good story and one that should be told.
A couple of things felt a little funny - there was a host-delivered line or two that hit me wrong as a non-biological queer parent (his kids needed a mom and her kids needed a dad, some - maybe heteronormative stuff) which I only point out because I don’t think it was intended.”
