Incredibly Conflicted…
Just listened to season 2. I thought the reporting, format, editing was great… the op-ed portion, with very little in the way of fact but only her “feeling” (in fact, seems the majority of the “evidence” presented left more questions about guilt than answers) was incredibly disappointing and (in my opinion) unethical. I could not conclude definitively from the information and interviews he was guilty beyond-reasonable doubt. Buy by voicing her opinion, she put the finger on the scale without much to back it up other than the issue with the dog, 1/2 of which I def believe based on my extensive experience w foster puppies (surprising what they can do) the other 1/2 of which I don’t know bc I can’t see what she’s taking about. Anyhow I don’t know that he DIDN’T do it but I certainly don’t know beyond a reasonable doubt that he DID, based on what I heard, which is ostensibly the burden of proof for conviction.

More reviews of Lost Hills: The Dark Prince
I was interested after the first two episodes. I thought it was told well and it felt like there was more to com but in episode 3 a psychic is brought in. Sorry, but that’s an automatic delete for me. Psychics and lie detectors need to vanish from true crime media and investigations in general.

With a pile of things on my ‘To Do’ list yesterday, I couldn’t stop listening to this podcast. It is brilliant, and will draw you in. Can’t wait to hear how this unfolds. But huge thanks to the team producing this gift to the rest of us.

I’m very engaged by the story and the storytelling. I would prefer about 10% less melodrama in the narration and 15% less drama in the sound design. That being said, I am hooked!
