“Firstly, the show has some entertaining moments, without a doubt. But its rarely sticking to the subject title and more or less wobbles about the personal tech preferences, movie preferences, science fiction book tips and product placement and very shallow analysis of big tech announcements and regulations, as well as some sighing comments on trivial tech and media philosophy and politics, by its panel members and host. So, it’s an entertaining show about their first world problems. That in and on itself would not have driven me to my one star review...
But critical input in their IRC chat is not welcome, whether on show topics, discussions with other participants, etc. During an IRC session, you can find yourself banned to their „trollodex”, just because some caricature of a BOFH (Hi, ScooterX!) - who doesn’t know you at all - answers „… and because of the worldview of yours...” on a technical opinion of yours. As I replied: “You don’t know me, so don’t give a d… about you guessing about my world view!” I was then banned to the trollodex, even after trying to make my point in their „unfiltered” IRC channel to him.
It’s most probably more of a distinction to land there… :)
Why? A short web search on the caricature BOFH admin shows has been dedicated entire websites as personal halls of shame (Mr. Laporte, Google is your Friend). He obviously isn’t very interested in the show’s success…
Et ainsi, je claque la porte! :)”
