“This largely excellent podcast loses credibility the minute it starts relying on Pat Brown the self-styled ‘profiler.’ Pat Brown is not — nor has she ever been — a profiler. Nor has she she ever been an investigator or even a uniform cop. She’s just a woman who famously read a couple of books and then, risibly, decided to call herself a profiler. It’s such a shame the journalist included her — his careful, serious work is trashed the minute he does so.
