Hello friend, welcome to the Magnetic Creator Podcast! I’m your host Melanie Mishler and my superpower is helping women remember who they truly are- POWERFUL, MAGICAL CREATORS!

I share science-backed tools to help you manifest what you want, get off the hamster wheel of life, step into your fullest potential, and create a life that sets your heart on FIRE!

I'm a manifestation teacher, energy worker, and trauma-informed somatic coach. And each week I bring you short snackable episodes 15 minutes or under. We’ll have intimate conversations about what’s most important in life: personal transformation, finding pleasure, embodying success, finding inner power and confidence, putting yourself first, creating a roadmap on how to live a fulfilling life, getting out of our own way, embodied transformation, and SO much more.

If you’ve dipped your toe into manifestation teachings in the past- my technique is a little different- I always say I'm equal parts of woo-woo neuroscience and strategy. And that's because I REALLY believe we need all three of these in order to create lasting and meaningful transformation In our lives.

Why? Because, you can do all the positive affirmations, vision boards, goal setting, and meditations in the world - But if you have underlying limiting self-beliefs that are playing like broken records in the background, then nothing is going to change.
At the same time you can be taking lots of action, and be really busy in DOING- but if you don't have a clear vision or roadmap to where you're going then you often end up like a hamster on a wheel going nowhere fast. SO FRUSTRATING. I help you break that cycle with practical, proven strategies, raw personal stories and lots of inspiration. I hope you'll join me!

How Your THOUGHTS Create Your REALITY

How Your THOUGHTS Create Your REALITY

Welcome, friends! Today, I had a different episode planned, but I felt compelled to pivot after an enlightening experience over the weekend in one of our businesses.I'm sharing a personal story that beautifully illustrates how we manifest our reality and how our perception shapes our experiences.
    Main Story:
My husband and I have been wedding photographers for over 20 years, and we also manage a beautiful wedding venue. Most of our closest friends started as clients and became like family over the years. This weekend, we faced an unexpected challenge—a crazy storm disrupted a wedding we were hosting. Despite the conditions, our team worked hard to pivot and ensure the couple had a beautiful day. However, the groom's mother was displeased with everything, criticizing and hurling hate speech at our staff, including racial and body-shaming slurs directed at me.
    Personal Reflections:
I'm a proud second-generation Mexican-American and a plus-size woman. The hate speech was shocking and hurtful, especially as it happened while we were working hard to create a wonderful experience.Despite this, I realized I'm grateful not to live with such negative, racist, body-shaming energy. It's a stark reminder that we can be in the same place, at the same moment, and have vastly different experiences.
    The Science of Perception:
Our beliefs and expectations shape our experiences. The brain uses these as a filter, letting through what it deems important without judging whether these are positive or negative. This incident with the groom's mother shows how a negative filter can completely change one's perception of an event.
    Philosophical Insights:
We often talk about the idea that "Same Same, but Different," which reflects how people can stand in the same spot but have different experiences based on their internal filters. This weekend's events were a powerful example of this concept in action.
    Closing Thoughts:
Who do you want to be? Do you want to be the person who brings joy, or the one who is toxic and cruel? You get to choose, and it's okay to change past behaviors.I've been the critical person before, and I know it doesn't feel good. This experience has reinforced the importance of choosing how we want to show up in the world.
    Favorite Quote:
From A Course in Miracles (ACIM): "The strong do not attack because they see no need to do so. Before the idea of attack can enter your mind, you must have perceived yourself as weak."
    Sign-off:
Be kind to each other and to yourself. Choose how you want to show up and have a beautiful week!

Experiencing True Pleasure vs. Mindless Indulgences

Experiencing True Pleasure vs. Mindless Indulgences

Hi friend, welcome back! I owe you a huge apology to kick things off. I missed publishing an episode last week, thinking it might go unnoticed, but boy, was I wrong! Thanks to your texts and messages, it’s clear you missed the podcast. So, you didn’t miss out on anything last week, and I'm here to ensure it doesn’t happen again. New episodes are coming your way every Wednesday from here on out!
    Diving Into Pleasure
This episode is all about one of my favorite topics—pleasure. We’re exploring the difference between real and fake pleasure, understanding these differences, and why they are absolutely crucial.
    Why Understanding Pleasure Matters
Pleasure is essential—it forces us to be present, to fully inhabit our bodies and embrace life as it happens. In our hyper-stimulated, overly busy world, many of us forget to truly engage with being alive. We’re often multitasking our enjoyment away—I’m totally guilty of this, like when I distract myself with podcasts instead of enjoying my walks in nature.

    The Problem with Fake Pleasure
We are constantly bombarded with messages about what will bring us happiness and pleasure, usually tied to buying more stuff. But real happiness isn’t about possessions—it’s about experiencing life. One of my first teachers in energy work, Alexander Lowen, taught me that real pleasure comes from being in harmony with our true selves and allowing life’s energy to flow through us freely. Blocking this flow can lead to stress, anxiety, and depression, so it's pivotal to let pleasure move through us.

Real vs. Fake Pleasure: Examples from My Life
Let’s look at some real-life examples to illustrate real versus fake pleasure. When we visit our friends who are wine connoisseurs, they share special vintage wines with us. This whole experience—showing the bottle, uncorking it, the first smell, the taste—it’s a rich, sensory experience, filled with pleasure.
Contrast that with the nights when I’m wiped out from work and open a cheap bottle of wine to unwind.  It might seem similar, but the experience leaves me feeling drained and blah. The same goes for eating: a quiet, savored meal can be amazing, whereas eating hurriedly while distracted is far from pleasurable.

How to Foster More Real Pleasure
Identifying what genuinely brings us pleasure is personal and vital. For instance, some of my clients find joy in long runs—it energizes them, while the thought alone exhausts me! It’s about recognizing what makes you feel alive and vibrant.

    Creating Your Pleasure List
I encourage everyone to create two lists: what truly nourishes you and what depletes you. This simple exercise can guide you to make more room in your life for real, enriching experiences. Once we KNOW the things that feed us, we can incorporate more of them into our lives.

    Closing Thoughts
We have only one life, and there’s no room for wasting it on things that leave us feeling empty and unfulfilled. This week, I urge you to seek out experiences that make you feel fully alive and connected.

The Identity Shift: Your Secret Weapon to Achieving Goals

The Identity Shift: Your Secret Weapon to Achieving Goals

Hi Friend, welcome back to Magnetic Creator Podcast. Last week, we dug into the how our habits (and non-habits) can make or break the progress toward our goals. It's mind-boggling to think that a staggering 80% of people toss their New Year's resolutions aside by mid-January. That got me thinking about the real journey of our goals and the journey it takes to get there.
So today we’re going to dive into a big question- Who you have to BECOME in order to achieve your big goals?  I talk about some insights from a recent movie Andy and I watched “Brittney Runs A Marathon.” and also some personal insights from my own life.
What it comes down to is that reaching goals isn’t just about ticking off boxes on your to-do list. It’s about fully embodying the identity of the person who's already achieved that goal. We're chatting about the importance of taking small, consistent actions that sync up with this ideal identity, and we'll be drawing parallels between goal-setting and manifestation.
    Key Takeaways:
Goals ain't just items on a checklist; they should fire us up and keep us on track.Hitting those goals means syncing our actions with the identity of our future selves. It's the little wins that stack up to massive transformations over time.Manifesting isn’t just magical thinking-  it's about living like the person who's already living your dream.
Remember that big goals are tackled one step at a time. Embrace the journey of self-discovery and trust that you're on the right path. Stick around for more deep dives into goal-setting, manifestation, and personal growth in our upcoming episodes.

    Introduction:
In a world filled with aspirations and ambitions, it's common to find ourselves setting grand goals, only to watch them fade away with time. New Year's resolutions, in particular, often fall victim to this pattern of abandonment. But what if I told you that the key to realizing your dreams lies not in lofty objectives, but in the smallest of daily habits?
    Unlocking Potential Through Habits:
Habits are the silent architects of our lives, shaping our actions and influencing our outcomes. They're more than just routines; they're the neural pathways in our brains that guide our behaviors, whether toward success or stagnation. The beauty of habits lies in their adaptability – they can either propel us forward or hold us back, depending on how we cultivate them.
    Identifying Supportive Habits:
The first step towards harnessing the power of habits is recognizing our current behavioral patterns. It's easy to focus on what we're not doing, but true insight comes from understanding what we ARE doing consistently. By pinpointing the habits that either align with or diverge from our goals, we gain clarity on where to direct our efforts for positive change.
Cultivating Change, One Habit at a Time:
Creating new habits doesn't require monumental efforts; it thrives on incremental progress. By starting with the smallest of actions, we can gradually build momentum towards our goals. Whether it's dedicating a few minutes each day to writing, or replacing unproductive habits with constructive ones, every tiny step brings us closer to our desired destination.
    Embracing the Journey:
The journey towards our dreams is not a sprint but a marathon, fueled by consistent effort and unwavering commitment. As you embark on this path of self-discovery and growth, remember to celebrate every small victory along the way. True transformation isn’t about grand gestures, but the small actions that make up our lives.  So as you navigate your own journey, I urge you to embrace the power of tiny habits. Whether you're pursuing a long-buried dream or striving for a short-term goal, remember that change begins with the smallest of actions. Until next time, be well.

Finding Your Why | Discover Your CORE Values

Finding Your Why | Discover Your CORE Values

Welcome back, friend! Let's get into something that could really change the way you look at life: core values. Feeling like life’s just happening to you rather than you living it on your terms? That’s where understanding your core values comes in.
Here’s the thing: Identifying your core values goes beyond just selecting appealing words; it’s about getting to the heart of what drives you and how you want to navigate through life.
Getting Personal: Through my own experiences – like dealing with my husband Andy, who couldn’t be more of a rule follower if he tried, and realizing how much I value freedom and experiences – I’ve seen how life-altering knowing your core values can be.
Your DIY Core Values Discovery:  To uncover your personal Core Values, start with a List: Look up a list of values online. Circle what strikes a chord. Then group them: Notice any patterns? Cluster similar values together. Finally, reflect: Think about what these values mean to you and how they impact your life.
Lean into your core values. Write them down, define them, and let them guide you. You'll notice decision-making gets easier, conflicts reduce, and you’ll feel more aligned with your true self. It's a journey worth taking for a life that’s fully yours. Catch you next time!

How to find more time THIS week!

How to find more time THIS week!

    Hi Friend,
If my voice sounds a bit rugged today, blame it on a spontaneous concert I held in my car—just me, the open road, and a box full of 80s and 90s CD’s. But that's a story for another day.
Today, we're diving into something short but sweet and potentially life-changing. We're talking about finding more time—yes, that elusive treasure we all wish we had more of. If you've ever sighed, wishing for more hours in the day, or felt your dreams slipping through your fingers because "I'm just too damn busy," then buckle up.
You know I'm all about that blend of woo-woo, neuroscience, and strategy. It's the trifecta that makes transformation stick. Because you can vision board and affirm your heart out, but if you have negative self talk playing like broken records in the background- You're building castles on quicksand. And let's not even get started on the hamster wheel of busywork without a clear dream or direction. It's Groundhog Day, minus Bill Murray's charm.
So many incredible women come to me in my 12-week transformation program, outwardly nailing it but inwardly whispering, "There's got to be more to life than this." Whether it's a yearning to write a book, switch careers, or just find happiness, the story is the same: "I'll get to it later." But here's the cold, hard truth: Later is a myth. We're not promised tomorrow, so why wait?
Now, let's talk strategy with a capital S. Finding more time isn't about discovering a hidden 25th hour. It's about auditing your current 24. A time audit is your secret weapon here. It's simple, eye-opening, and a bit of a gut punch—in the best way. You track your activities for a week and behold the mountains of time you didn't know you had. Spoiler: It's usually lost to the void of Netflix binges and social media spirals.
I've walked this path, juggling a million things while dreaming of love and fulfillment. And guess what? It took a brutal look at my own excuses and fears to realize I was the architect of my own prison of busyness. The time audit was my wake-up call. It showed me, in stark daylight, how much of my life was spent on things that didn't light me up inside.
So, I challenge you friend, to embark on this journey of discovery. See where your hours really go. It's not about shame or guilt. It's about awareness and choice. You might just find that the life you dream of is closer than you think, hidden within the time you already have.
If you're ready to dive deeper, to unearth the roots of your "busyness," you know where to find me. My door is always open, and my inbox is waiting.
    Till next time, be well
