I’m on my 3rd binge of this podcast and it never gets old. Episode 20, “The King” still makes me cry!

I was hooked from the first episode. The writing, the voice acting, the storytelling, the drama, are all part of what makes this podcast great. Harlan Guthrie has crafted a masterpiece of horror, and intrigue.

After I finished TMA I was not sure if was I was ever gonna be able to fill in the void but someone recommended me Malevolent and I'm HOOKED! The story, the characters ( all voiced by one dude btw) is so good. Cannot wait for more episodes! Check out Deviser too btw; just as good ‼️Read full review »

This podcast is so good! When I first found it I just wanted something to listen to on my commute, but after a few episodes I was listening to it practically all the time. The characters are amazing and I love the story and world building so much!

I began Malevolent in 2023 during a binge of getting into other horror podcasts. It made me read the King In Yellow and annotate it, it made me create fanart, and it made me cry during certain moments with how much it resonated with me. Harlan Guthrie is a wonderful, creative, passionate, and all...Read full review »

This is one of the most captivating, interesting and heart wrenching (in a good way) shows I’ve ever listened to! Characterisation is the most important aspect of any show for me and the creator makes a great job at giving us characters that are loveable, relatable but also human in every way. I...Read full review »

Ok so the writing is unmatched. The story is intricate, smart…no sharks jumped. Harland’s VOICES are top tier. The soundscaping is so good, I listen with earphones and I legit jumped MANY times as I felt I was there observing. This is a MASTERCLASS in narrative storytelling not just horror...Read full review »

No podcast has ever made me as emotional as this one. If you like character-driven podcasts with a lot of emotion, I highly recommend this one. I started this series less than a week before writing this review, and in that time I have caught up and become devastated that there isn’t more. The...Read full review »

Without doubt the best lovecraftian podcast I’ve heard…and I’ve heard a lot. This is my all time equal favourite fiction podcast. A truly outstanding effort. Addendum: I’m trying not to rush through the most recent series of this as I just don’t want to get to the point where I can’t binge more...Read full review »

This podcast hits every single chord. Horror, comedy, love but in a non romantic way making it more symbolic, action, adventure, drama, suspense. It is able to tell the story without actual narration and uses just dialogue and tremendous sound effects. Every episode leaves me wanting more and...Read full review »

The story all around is outstanding but to avoid spoilers for readers of reviews I will keep it brief. Part 40- 22:50 is arguably the funniest line in this entire show. Thank you.

The distorted voice effect on the first episode was really annoying, kept me from finishing the first episode. However I’m positive that it is an amazing audio drama if you are not bothered by it or have the patience for it to be gone in the later episodes

This is arguably one of the best podcasts I have ever listened to. I started with Old Gods of Appalachia which in itself is amazing and stumbled upon Malevolent and never looked back. Also check out his other podcast “The Deviser” which is a limited series. Harlan Guthrie is the best.

The best fiction podcast out there by far, makes some of the others (even ones with celebrity bandwagon-ers) sound like a second rate am-dram production. Well done Harlan Guthrie (ps deviser is great also!)

Incredible! This one is a true hidden treasure. It’s not just that the quality is excellent or the atmosphere is dead-on Cthulhu/film noir. This podcast is brilliant. On on hand, fascinating and engaging plot. On the other hand, the voice acting is so terrible and it’s not helped along by gratingly repetitive dialogue. I have to hand it to them though because I do grit my teeth through the dialogue because I want to know what happens next. Worth a listen. Wish...Read full review »
