For burnt-out would-be superhumans like me
“You’re only human,” “It’s OK to be anxious,” and “You don’t have to be perfect,” usually seem true enough in my therapist’s office, or for other people, but not very often in my daily life. Somehow, the way that Steve, Lisa and the guests model approaching anxiety, flaws, and other messy parts of being human - with warmth and curiosity rather than fear - has me convinced it might be OK to hang up my cape and mask more often.
