EP. 239 - Dragon Ball: That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha

EP. 239 - Dragon Ball: That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha

On March 1st, 2024, Akira Toriyama, creator of Dragon Ball (amongst many other works), passed away at the age of 68, and the world is worse without him in it, but that won't stop us from celebrating his life and the legacy he left behind. This episode of the podcast contains the first ever discussion we ever recorded exclusively for our Patreon back in 2019. A discussion featuring our good friends, Sakaki (founder of Weekly Shogakukan Edition) and Maxy Barnard (Shonen Jump enthusiast and contributor to the Shonen Flop podcast), about That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha! A manga that you would be right to assume is one that's about how lame Yamcha is and why its so funny how lame he is, but really, it is a manga for Dragon Ball fans, by a Dragon Ball fan! Enjoy!

Be sure to take our annual podcast survey by Sunday, March 17th, for a chance to win some free manga!!

Great Manga podcast

As a big fan of manga I adore this podcast! You got a bunch of great folks getting together and talking about manga (which is far better than anime). Check em out!

???

I encountered a manga a few years ago and I for the life of me can’t remember what it was called. All I remember is that it’s not a new one but it was about these ninken clans that fought each other (?). I know that the main dog was taking his fathers place and he was in command of groups of dogs. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

The Genki Guy ,

Awesome

They invest a lot of time in their episodes and it shows. They cover a ton of manga and manga-related material and have a variety of fun special episodes with great guests. Check out their huge Shonen Jump episode. It's fantastic.
