Raising the odds of success for corporate/startup collaborations
Listen now
Description
On the face of it, a collaboration between a nimble, high-growth start-up and a large, established corporation seems like a good pairing. The capital-hungry start-up gets the benefit of funding as well as access to corporate resources and potential customers; the corporation gets insights into innovations, and access to the technology and talent which have the potential to transform their industry. But while the number of such engagements has been growing in the last decade, the reality is making these marriages work can be very challenging, and the results have been decidedly mixed. In this special guest episode of the Inside the Strategy Room podcast, McKinsey’s Tawanda Sibanda, Miao Wang and Tobias Henz join host Sean Brown to discuss what it takes to make these partnerships work for both parties.
