“I have just finished season 1, so my review is based on that. The story is really great. It keeps you interested and you want to find out what happens next.
That said, I have two issues with the show. The first is the voice actors they chose. The doctor sounds like an infomercial actor. His voice is soothing, but doesn’t show much emotion. Their is also a character that is meant to be 22, but sounds like a middle-aged woman.
My second complaint is with the storytelling. This is an interesting story, but it would make a better book than it would a podcast. There is a famous saying about writing: show, don’t tell. This story is doing too much telling and not enough showing. The details are over-explained. We don’t need to be told that someone laughed if they are actually laughing. We don’t need every detail of what the forest looks like. We don’t need everyone’s hair color. These descriptions make sense during the memories, but not when the character is in the present.”
