I wanted to love this. It’s an interesting setup for a story and the overall audio production and atmosphere was good. The acting left so much to be desired. More often than not it felt people dry reading of a piece of paper they’d never read before. But I understand that the actors volunteered...Read full review »

Nice world building and compelling plot. Lead actress is excellent, a bit uneven in the supporting cast but well worth a listen and I hope the creator comes back with more.

Great story, suspenseful, had me guessing throughout. Loved this! Please create more. I loved this so much that if I had the means to create a movie out of this, I would!

Good story with a great mix of mythology. The acting was a bit over the top for me, but I couldn’t stop listening. Engaging short story that is worth your time to listen.

I love the subject matter so I was already sold but the execution lost me a bit. Very nice world building and production although the acting wasn’t great. We follow the main character for most of it but they aren’t interesting enough to want to follow along with. The plot was also oddly paced...Read full review »

Clearly lots of planning has gone into this and the writing is actually quite good. But it’s very much let down by the acting. Pretty much every cast member sounds exactly as though they are reading from a script - and it sounds terribly unnatural and really takes you out of the story. It’s too...Read full review »

There is no area where this podcast doesn't fail. The acting is staggeringly bad - it's like they got some high school sophomores who have been in drama class for a week and asked them to voice act. The characters were two-dimensional in the extreme. Heck, calling them...Read full review »

I feel Mermaids of Merrow’s Cove is unfortunately another example of a great premise that doesn’t pan out; I like the ideas and motifs behind this, but the voice acting and script is a little lacking for me. During important scenes I had some trouble understanding who was talking because, aside...Read full review »

What if one of those NPR reporters was allowed to tell a first person narrative with little personal integrity? And also maybe mermaids and kidnappers and murderers were everywhere? A great podcast that both pokes fun and honors the genres of investigative reporting and NPR style personal...Read full review »

There’s nothing here worth hearing, because it’s a story we’ve all heard a thousand times- a woman is made to suffer and die to provide wealth and happiness for some, and pathos for others. The ending is utterly nonsensical and counter to the entire story. It’s an excellently produced podcast...Read full review »

I enjoyed the first season of this show. I liked the main character a lot. I didn't see the twist ending coming until it was starting to happening. I appreciated that they did give us some answers, even though they ended on a cliffhanger, unlike a lot of similar shows that just keep stringing...Read full review »

While I love the thought of mythical creatures mermaids are not on the top of my list, so when I finally got around to listening to this podcast I was pleasantly surprised. This podcast reminds me of limetown, which I love. It is a serious fictional mystery/ crime/who done it story with just the...Read full review »

I’m hooked. I discovered this podcast this morning and I’ve just finished. The voice acting is wonderful! The pacing is perfect. The story is dark and scary and mysterious. I really hope this isn’t the end.

The drama and suspense and Michelle is top notch, the writing and sound designer amazing, and the acting is brilliant. If you love stories about mythology and magic realism as well as investigation into clandestine activities you will love the show.

I was looking for another podcast that tells a story like this one does, after I finished Limetown. This podcast is very interesting so far, and the production is great. I’m excited to see where it goes.

I was completely blown away by the storytelling and production value of this podcast. The music and sound bites make you feel as if your immersed in the story, creating an atmosphere that is dream like. Subbed and can’t wait for the next episode.

Just finished listening to the first episode and I’m hooked!!!! This is such a great podcast! Merrow’s Cove may be a small town, but has latent secrets that I can’t wait to discover in future episodes! What happened to Alice!?
