Now I know who starred in Escape From Witch Mountain

I was looking forward to a minute by minute look at one of my all time favorite movies. Unfortunately, this podcast didn’t hit the spot. I only listened to the first three episodes, and the first two were the podcaster and his sisters talking about their experience with Halloween. These episodes didn’t sound great, and I know the producer did a series of remixes to make the audio better. The problem wasn’t so much the audio quality, but the fact that they didn’t really have a structure to their conversation and they were talking over each other. During the second episode, they argued for what felt like 10 minutes about who starred in Escape From Witch Mountain. So at least I know the answer to that nagging question. After these first two, it’s just the solo podcaster doing his minute by minute run through of the movie. Which would have been an improvement, but it sounds like he is whispering and talking fast, so it is hard to understand what he is saying sometimes.

Not good.

This is such a missed opportunity. The host does a really lame and far too quiet narration, keeps telling the same stories over and over that weren’t interesting in the first place and offers very little in the way of information about the movie, story or plot. Everything that could be interesting is hidden behind far too many personal stories that have nothing to do with why we’re here. I wanted to like it, I really did, but it is impossibly dull to get through. My condolences to his students that don’t have the luxury of a skip forward button.

Better as you go

I have never listened to a minute by minute podcast. So perhaps this will set kind of a standard for me. I think this host is terrific.

It has a little slow of a start but not all podcasts come out of the gate a big exciting winner. I have truly enjoyed listening so far. Would like the opportunity to speak with the host someday about my love for the film. Best of luck!
