I am a true crime junkie usually, but I stumbled across this when preparing for a long roadtrip. What a find! This show is like a warm bowl of soup. Michelle’s voice is so soothing. She coaxes such great stories out of her guests and I feel like I am home with them. Such a great concept and a...Read full review »

What style & grace - I miss the Obama family. Her writing transports you and this podcast gives depth & dimension. At times, she cracks me up I laugh out loud. Thank heavens I’m a remote worker so I’m not being disruptive!

I have admired Norris for her years on NPR and then her book and Race Project. Talking to guests about their childhood or current kitchens is an ingenious way of bringing out terrific memories, family stories, and food ideas galore. I love this podcast

I’ve so enjoyed the various interviews in this podcast series. Michele Norris has a wonderful interview style and makes each guest comfortable. Sometimes she guides the conversation, but here she respectfully let Takei set the pace and direction. Harrowing to hear of Japanese Americans imprisoned...Read full review »

George Takei is the best episode yet. Heart-rending and heart warming. Each episode brings history to life through the exploration of food and the memories it evokes.

You described my childhood kitchen and dining room! Swinging door and all. Except the appliances were white. Kitchen walls were of course yellow.

I can relate to all memories…I think of my summers with my great grandmother cooking. I laugh all the way to work driving in L.A traffic… I enjoyed the Conan memory!

This has been an unexpected surprise! I love this concept and it has played out extremely well. The kitchen is where a home happens! I love the hosts voice it is so comforting/inviting. I really enjoy this comforting and sometimes thought-provoking podcast. I loved the Michelle Obama episode that started off the season (I’m hoping there will be multiple seasons) and have loved most of the episodes since. Have to be honest, though; the Conan O’Brien episode is my least favorite...Read full review »

I love this as a palette cleanser (no pun intended) for the more anxiety-inducing podcasts we all typically gobble up (no pun intended). Michele brings thoughtfulness to the conversation while she looks to invoke the spirit of kitchens from guests’ childhoods. The undercurrent of socioeconomic...Read full review »

I have listened to two episodes and this is now on my favorites list. Michele has such an easy rapport with her guests and their vulnerability and willingness to share is very special. A lot of food for thought here, so to speak. Can’t wait to hear more.

These podcasts have brought back so many memories!! I heard a teaser on the 1A podcast, and I immediately called my mom to ask about my grandma’s cookbook! We both learned from my grandma in her kitchen, and I’m passing that on to my kids.

Listening today on WHYY I was transported back into my grandma’s kitchen. How wonderful the memories. Lessons learned! One thing that stands out is watching my grandma make biscuits. Hot buttermilk biscuits I loved the crispy corners, nothing like it

with all the right, Marxist guests and child abusing Ellen DeGeneres, all of her podcast look different with the same crooked child mutilating guests. Well, I tried really hard to like it but it was really ghetto. Poor sound and bad production of proper English.

Over and over. I like mrs Obama, I’ve read about her struggles and hardship over and over. i wish she uses her status to make a difference, to promote causes for black people for ex. It’d be POWERFUL. Please!

Thank you so much Mrs Obama for making your experiences so relatable. Listening to the podcast made me feel like a chat with a friend down the road and not the former First Lady. All the way from S.A with love ❤️ Profound lessons I will carry close to my heart.

I wanted to love this, but after listening to the episode with David Letterman, I learned that the podcast - billed as a “conversation” - was 98% Mrs. Obama talking. She unfortunately wouldn’t let David get a word in edgewise! So disappointing, and I won’t be listening to any more episodes.

I have been a Michelle watcher ever since she became First Lady. She never disappoints. I find that she exudes character. I have read her book twice. If you need a pick me up, sound advice or just a fresh perspective read her book or listen to the podcast. You will be enriched.
