This is the most deeply unnerving disturbing heart wrenching and memorable podcast I’ve ever listened. It is also extremely under rated. I listed to this a long while back and after just listening to another podcast episode about eerily similar unsolved case “Rachel cook” i had to come back and...Read full review »

Speech pattern and enunciation makes it surprisingly tricky to follow

Interesting case but honestly after the first episode everything else is essentially a stream of consciousness from the hosts. They talk more about themselves and their process to make the podcast than they do about the actual case.

It has been said but it can’t be said ENOUGH! What Kirk has done and is doing is incredible. The state of Massachusetts needs to recognize his service to the commonwealth. Keep fighting the good fight and never stop digging!

I think this is a good podcast and it does important work to put stories out there. However, I think it is completely inappropriate to say a victim’s family does not care as much because they will not speak to a podcast. My mouth was on the floor when I heard you say that.

This story is unreal, as is the quality of reporting on it from this podcast.just listen to it. Absolutely amazing.

I disagreed with Kirk often in his WEEI DAYS, but always respected his honesty. His work getting justice for these girls on both Seasons of the case is NOBLE and amazingly professional

Good stories but very all over the place and hard to follow. A lot of random jumbled talking. Couldn’t get through it.

Interesting story, well researched and told. The only thing I don’t like is that your speech is garbled a lot and very fast. I think this may be an accent, but if you would slow down just a bit, and enunciate your words better, it would be much more enjoyable to listen to. This is meant to help...Read full review »

First four episodes are super repetitive, too many random characters that are not clearly related to the rest of the story, LOTS of time spent repeatedly interviewing a drug addicted man who is not a reliable reporter….. you lost me before you could get to the actual topic of the podcast listed...Read full review »

I have been praying for this duo to come together!! I love the fast talking, quick quips, and town gossip. I could listen to them talk about the Karen Read and Sandra Birchmore cases for hours. Fantastic listen, please run it back!

Season 2 is really well done, looking forward to more from Kirk!

Keep on shining that light on corruption and helping people feel comfortable coming forward with information. You do an great job Kirk taking info from different sources and putting it all together in a coherent manner.

So well done. Great research. Shows respect for victim. I’ve been looking for a podcast on the Birchmore case and finally found one that isn’t just regurgitating Reddit and newspaper articles This is a must listen. Keep up the great work.

This is a great podcast, only thing that irritates me is Kirk cutting Mike off. There were so many times I was into what he was saying and he was cut off before saying anything. Or Kirk would ask him questions then cut him off.

As I was listening to the last episode of the second season, I felt the pain the host and producer felt for the job, which for now, seems like they did not accomplish after completing the season for Sandra. Giving the information of the explorer program to the audience to me, is enough of a job...Read full review »

I’m not usually a Barstool follower, but this is good important work. Much respect to Kirk for covering this subject matter with more respect and humanity than all the hosts out there navel-gazing about the ethics of true crime. Hope to learn more, there are so many people that die or go missing...Read full review »

As a resident of the upstate of SC, I was unaware of the depth of missing people in Walhalla. Thank you for shining a light on these issues! Also - just to let you know - in SC the coroner does not need ANY medical degree yo hold the position. It is a fully elected position. I would be curious to...Read full review »

Love the story and the podcast, but when you speak, your sentences start out loud and then trail off. This makes it hard to hear, especially when listening in the car. Don’t let your voice trail off!

The brain eventually shuts down when listening to this eternal chewing and repetition of the same things. Apparently there are not enough facts and events for a whole podcast, therefore it is filled with bla bla bla.

This podcast has a lot of potential. Kirk has no shame and is not afraid to outright ask people hard questions, which is great. However, he does talk quite a bit and doesn’t always summarize. I found myself in season 1 getting a bit confused on who is who and what ties certain people have....Read full review »

I have loved listening to this podcast. Being from Oconee County, though, I’d love an updated episode on Faith Roach! ☺️

Love the show but just needs to let people talk and not always interrupt when they are talking. Just wait till people are done them say what you need to say. Otherwise love it.

I’m interested in the cases, but the delivery leaves a lot to be desired. The first season was good and led me into the second season. The second season is much different. There aren’t any interviews, all information about the case narrated by the host. This would be fine, however the episodes...Read full review »

He talks nonstop, he loves to listen to his own voice, his talks over his guests, repeats himself and then talks some more. A little less Kirk would be great.

There’s another case of suicide of a police explorer from the 70s, Sandy Beal was the girl’s name and she was from Maine I believe. There’s a podcast about her case. There needs to be more oversight or something if explorer programs are to continue because this has been an issue for way too long...Read full review »

I really enjoy this podcast and I feel like they do a thorough job on covering the cases. The reason I gave them 3 stars is because the one host is constantly talking over the other host. Barstool is one of my fav media outlets - but always just for sports of un serious random content consumption. Season 2 started off very interesting but now that they moved into conversational format it is sooooo boring. Not sure if I can even finish the season. No offense but we don’t need to hear your opinions, just the facts

Really like the investigative work, but hate that 2nd guy keeps getting interrupted all the time this season. But still think they are doing good work for justice.
Mommahedden41 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/11/23
Season 1 was great, season 2 not so much. I like the host but the other guy is obnoxious and annoying and ruins the flow of a serious podcast. Hopefully can go back to the way it was S1 or get someone else to help the host out.
jack3672 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 01/11/23
The new conversational format fits Kirk’s persona really well, reminds me of the Cullen investigation and stands out from other scripted and over-produced true-crime podcasts. Great work, hope this case gets the attention it deserves.
