Wow. What an incredibly sad story of the internal, spiritual, ancestral pull to one’s culture and family. I truly wish Cleo’s family peace.

Incredibly well presented podcast of an extremely sad story. I’m so glad Cleo’s family have found her. Hearing how children are removed from families and their culture has been eye opening for me.

Connie is a truly gifted storyteller, with compassion and tenderness and the ability to dig into a story with respect to everyone involved. Her personal perspective adds layers of understanding for me as a listener, and she treats the subjects of her story with such care.

A window into the suffering of First Nations peoples. Compassionate, reasoned, balanced. Everyone should listen to this series, it gives an insight into the generational trauma of First Nations communities. It brings their pain to life, very sad but also hopeful and demonstrates the resilience of...Read full review »

What a heartbreaking story! And a story of many many Native American and Canadian children and families. This was a very sympathetic and well told work. Thank you!

[Spoiler Alert] A devastating case. Brilliant storytelling. Kudos to Connie & her team. I was absolutely riveted. As an adoptee, I could relate to sooo much of what Cleo went through. She was failed by so many people, so many times. Personally, I don’t believe the adoptive brother’s story....Read full review »

The reporters obviously doesn’t understand the atrocities indigenous people went through & how cover ups happen. To say she didn't want to paint a bad picture about the social workers was upsetting to me. Children were KIDNAPPED out of their homes. A suicide usually don’t have a thick...Read full review »

I loved both seasons, Connie was very thoughtful about how she investigated both of these missing persons. Really shining a light on the effects of the residence schools and AIM adoption program had on the indigenous family structure and the lives changed by it. Giving a voice and dignity to both...Read full review »

I have listened to 2 of Connie Walker’s podcasts and they are amazing. The first included the history of the Highway of Tears and the Missing & Murdered, the 2nd included the history of the Sixties scoop. The combination of Connie’s actually being Indigenous, with her voice and story-telling...Read full review »

I’ve listen to Season 1 and I’m about 2/3rds through Season 2. This is one of the best I’ve listen to. Fascinating, educational, infuriating, captivating, excellent journalism.

Season 2 „Finding Cleo“ must be one of the best true crime podcasts I‘ve ever listened to. Thrilling story, heartbreaking and educating about the dark chapter of canadian history, the colonization and mistreatment of indigenious people. Absolute recommandation to listen.

This didn’t just happen in Canada, Australia did it to and we are paying for it Aboriginal people still hate white Australians YET we didn’t do it it was the government and churches.

Connie your an amazing reporter! This story has broken my heart , and I’m only at the beginning ! The heartbreak of the family members, the history of what the Canadian government did to First Nations’ communities… Christine’s dream about Cleo and her Grandmother will stay with you. Finding Cleo nearly broke me. Connie and her team did an amazing job of bringing this story to light.

A moving witness-not only to this family’s journey, but to the inconceivable loss and grief of colonization.

The journalist is extremely pushy and unethical. Ambushing people, popping up at a funeral to talk to someone who was obviously avoiding you, recording someone after they clearly stated that it was not ok to record them. Her story and deadline were clearly more important than the people who we...Read full review »

Season 1&2 were both great. I was so interested in both seasons. There’s a respect for the families that CBC reporters have that is so refreshing. The depth with which the cases are covered is admirable.

Anything Connie Walker does is amazing! She always treats the victims and their families with such compassion and empathy. She’s so great at educating people about how indigenous people in Canada have suffered at the hand of the government. I loved this series!

Maybe it wasn’t for me… but I was constantly waiting for something interesting to happen… it never came :/ It drag on an on, it tries making uneventful things sound suspenseful and fails, goes on really uninteresting tangents that lead nowhere… I didn’t appreciate this. I would take documentation by non-Indigenous social workers justifying the removal of First Nation children, with a grain of salt. This show is so addicting, each episode ends on a cliff hanger. There are so many highs and lows throughout the episode! I don’t know if anyone else agrees but I don’t think this is the end of Cleo’s story nor the truth. I hope you’re still looking into this!
