I really liked this podcast! I appreciated learning more about the important, yet too often painful, history of Canada’s native people as well as the story of “Cleo,” the family she longed for, and her tragic death. I was surprised to read some of the negative comments about the style of the narrator, “Connie.” As a journalism major in college, I thought she struck a perfect balance between empathy and compassion, while also pushing for the truth for “Cleo” and her family. This is a painful story with many uncomfortable truths, and not everyone is going to be happy/open to speak about them and reopen painful wounds. Connie did her job, and I felt she did it with a sense of duty and great empathy. What an incredible journey she led that family on - one of both gut-wrenching pain and agony - but also incredible healing and hope.... Thank you for bringing this important story to your listeners !!

An outstanding podcast, delving not only into the mystery of a horrendous crime, but also into the horrors of indigenous residential schools and the lasting effects they have to this day.

A truly impressive podcast! It's takes a closer look at the tragic death of Alberta Williams and the ongoing unsolved cases of violence against too many Indigenous women. Connie and her team deserve so much praise for looking into this, covering it and getting so close to solving it.Read full review »
