“I really liked this podcast! I appreciated learning more about the important, yet too often painful, history of Canada’s native people as well as the story of “Cleo,” the family she longed for, and her tragic death.
I was surprised to read some of the negative comments about the style of the narrator, “Connie.” As a journalism major in college, I thought she struck a perfect balance between empathy and compassion, while also pushing for the truth for “Cleo” and her family. This is a painful story with many uncomfortable truths, and not everyone is going to be happy/open to speak about them and reopen painful wounds. Connie did her job, and I felt she did it with a sense of duty and great empathy.
What an incredible journey she led that family on - one of both gut-wrenching pain and agony - but also incredible healing and hope....
Thank you for bringing this important story to your listeners !!”
