Used to be better
I don’t understand what they did to this show, but I haven’t liked a single episode in a couple of years now. It’s taken the focus off the “love” and each episode deals with serious issues that are quite depressing. Also a LOT of episodes about parent/child relationships. Very few romantic relationships or friendship-centric stories. Not everyone has children or parents. Felt unrelatable and extra depressing like it was rubbing my bad luck of being born to abusive mentally ill parents in my face even though I’m middle aged and live a thousand miles away and made my peace with the past. I used to like to listen to these short stories that would make me feel optimistic about the world I live in. Now they make me feel like I don’t measure up. I’m unsure why, but this podcast has been making me cringe every time it shows up in my feed nowadays. I read the synopsis and immediately delete. I listen to a lot of podcasts, every day, for years and years. This is the only one to illicit such a negative subconscious reaction. I’m curious as to why, but I’m probably better off just unsubscribing.

I love the stories..and how they are narrated beautifully. However, I don't care much for the conversations after. I would much rather listen to the stories. Maybe in the missed connection story, but not the fish story. Otherwise, it's great!Read full review »
