This podcast was so awesome. Fantastic, thorough reporting. Vivid storytelling that made me feel like I was apart of the story.

Excellent narration, cool non irritating soundtrack and plenty of interesting interviews from the time of the incidents and current ones too. Perhaps the weakest in the “Monster” series but totally worth a listen. A truly sad and unnecessarily violent chapter in turn of the century America....Read full review »

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the backstory and everything surrounding what happened with the DC sniper. I thought the last couple of episodes really rounded out the series. I enjoyed listening to Mildred’s account and how she was able to not only survive, but overcome. I also enjoyed...Read full review »

This would have been an otherwise great podcast had it not been for the interview of the kids at the end. I have never ever seen this sort of thing done with any other serial killer. Wont be listening to anymore “Monster” podcasts. The interview tone deaf and self serving. Why not give 40 minutes...Read full review »

Mohammad’s girls need serious therapy. They have NPD same as dad and probably mom. I really hope they can heal

Great coverage & story telling. Mildred and all other participants are amazing souls. Their bravery and honesty is harrowing.

Why
It was such a good pod until the Mildred episode, I couldn’t get through that. Bummer ending but great pod, otherwise. No one wants to here that muslim crap.

I'd like to start with the fact that I'm from Berkeley California, raised in a very liberal setting and still carry those ideals. The first two seasons of Monster were true investigative journalism. Listen to "In The Dark", also a stunning investigative journalism podcast that...Read full review »

Love this podcast. SO well done. Mildred Muhammad is so annoying though. 🙃

Can you please put a shorter ad in the middle or remove it completely, I don’t need two guys yelling in my ear at 2 AM when I’m trying to pass out. It’s so jarring please stop doing it, ads at start and end are fine and more then enough.

Such an important event in recent American history that many don’t know about because of 9/11. Captivating telling of the lives involved especially the victims. Thank you for giving a voice to those whose story has never been heard.

Loved it. Didn’t like the last episode interview with Mildred Mohammed. Felt like a advert.

I really think this is one of the better podcasts out there. Very well done and doesn’t go all over the place in confusion. It takes you on a well put together ride of a story. A lot of the details were unknown to me so I found it very interesting. It’s aptly titled because John Mohammed was...Read full review »

Podcast is good but why on earth are the commercials sooooooo loud?

One of the best True Crime podcasts I have listened too. I enjoyed it like S-Town, UAV and In the Dark. High quality and well told. Malvo’s story is incredible and tragic.

I f*ing love this podcast and this season was by far the best. Please, please make the next season with my man Tony. Also, loved the last bonus episode with Mildred Mohammad was amazing. What a inspiring, incredibly strong woman. A huge inspiration. Mildred, you rule!

A great podcast but would have to say my favourite part was listening to Mildred’s story. What an inspirational woman

You ignored the radical Muslim rants at the end - You’re presentation was fair up until the end.

I binged this in one weekend. It’s not just interesting, it’s addicting - I could not stop listening and when I wasn’t listening I was thinking about it. I lived in Montgomery County during this time and I didn’t know a ton of this information (especially the latest developments). Beautifully done.

Quite often in these podcasts there is an emotional hook to them (fairly, in many of them), whereas this one has balanced journalism to offer two sides of psychology, culpability, justice, and I enjoy that - thanks for this series.

This was one of my favorite true crime podcasts I've listened to in awhile. Great detail, hosting, and storytelling. All the interviews were an added bonus. It was a great podcast like all the other tenderfoot tv true crime podcast until they started endorsing gun control in the last episode and insinuated throw interviews that it was the bushmaster rifle that shot all those people, not lee and Mohammed.

Turned political so I turned it off
buckeyessuk via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/13/20
It’s seems to me that this podcast is more interested in being sympathetic to Malvo than to the innocent folks he murdered in cold blood.

The only thing distracting and odd, weird, in fact almost otherworldly, are the dulcet-toned suggestions that we are evidently supposed to root for the remaining serial killer and feel some sympathy for him. I don't.Read full review »

I couldn’t put this down. Then I caught up and was so sad. I read so much about these events in the early 2000’s but this podcast BY FAR tells way more information and is so soundly put together.

There are risks living in a democracy. Sadly, there are cruel and evil people that reside in America, as this podcast illustrates. Thank goodness that these events are rare. We need to agree that we cannot legislate morality, and we are free to protect ourselves, hunt, and shoot for...Read full review »

I was 7 years old in Bethesda, MD (Montgomery County) when the DC sniper attacks occurred. I was too young at the time to fully comprehend the magnitude. Your show has helped me open up conversations about life in the early 2000s with my parents. Thank you for your outstanding journalism!!!

I don’t want to listen to a podcast that tells me what to think or what conclusion to draw. The makers of the DC Monster series did a great job at presenting a variety of viewpoints and voices. Well done, I will be thinking about this one for weeks to come.

I was 12 years old when the DC shooting happened, so I didn’t really know much about it. The research is very good, and the events are very well told. I feel confident in recommending this series to someone who likes this genre. PS Matt Frederick, congrats man! This was a great listen.
