Ex-journalist with sleeping disorders
Some of us colleagues who debate virtues of new media might not appreciate journalists being more personable and knowable in stories, but having seen colleagues worn down by decades of crime and courts trauma connected to reporting, I think it’s important readers and listeners understand good journalism always come with some kind of cost to us, and knowing us better can only improve mutual reciprocal support of local reporters and local communities. I too have sleeping disorders commenced to disabilities worsened by work strain, and I so appreciate the vulnerability this host takes by showing others who we are and what we endure. Difficult but great work, thank you.

Would have given this 5 stars but the background music/noise is highly irritating. Perhaps because I’m a musician, but would enjoy this a lot more with no drone noise. It’s just irritating

I’m a huge true crime fan but what really interested me was the author’s sleep disorders. I too suffer from constant vivid nightmares where I even sometimes take the role of the antagonist, but the way it’s described on this podcast sounds like it’s straight out of a high school diary.
