Kendall Ellis - Leveling up in the 400m and Gaining Confidence on the World Stage
Description
"More Than Running" needs more than distance runners it needs sprinters! This week’s guest is Kendall Ellis. You may remember Kendall from her viral 4x4 finish for USC back in 2018 where she walked down Georgia in the last 80 meters to win the NCAA title. Since 2019, Kendall has been a pro athlete for New Balance and ran at the Tokyo Olympics where she earned a bronze medal in the mixed relay.
I recently met Kendall at the Track at New Balance when she saved the day and flew across the country on a red-eye to run the 400m leg for the distance medley relay team that clocked a world's best in the event.
In this episode, we discuss Kendall’s heartbreaking 4th place at the Olympic Trials in the individual 400m and how she has reframed her mindset leading into this year running with happiness and gratitude. We also talk about Kendall’s love of reading, music and why she considers herself an introvert. Kendall is running this upcoming weekend at the USATF NYC Grand Prix her last stop before the US Championships!

Angel Piccirillo graduated from Villanova University with a clear plan in mind: run fast, secure a contract, join a training group, represent national teams, and repeat the process. However, little did she expect that, despite being a 9-time All-American and graduating in 2017, she would find...
