Episode 13 | Courtney Wayment, 2x NCAA Champion for BYU
Listen now
Description
Courtney Wayment is a fifth-year senior at BYU and recently notched victories at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the DMR (won in the second-fastest time in NCAA history) and 3,000m (9:01.47).  She has a bubbly, sparkling personality and she speaks very highly of her team. There has been a lot in the media recently about unhealthy programs, challenges within the NCAA system and so I wanted to shed some light on a team that is having great success under a female coach, Coach Diljeet Taylor. This podcast episode was really special to me because I think sometimes we are so used to sharing stories about negative things in the media and I really wanted to highlight what it means to come together as a sisterhood to rise up and focus on any given day.  Courtney is about to start her outdoor NCAA season. She’s definitely on fire right now so she’s one to watch. She is the first active collegiate star we have had on the podcast so give her a follow.
