My favorite show was about Squizzy only because for once there was an interesting story told without annoying interruptions asking redundant questions by “the host” i.e. you can tell he is only prompting the guest to say what he would’ve say anyway without being interrupted. Why not just let...Read full review »

Some very interesting content. The podcast is more book review/collaborations than anything else. The audio quality and volume levels are all over the universal map.

This subject matter is always interesting and the author interviews are great. My only complaint is that the podcast is too addicting!

Erik is awesome! He is an incredibly skilled interviewer. His technique is subtle and he, refreshingly, lets his guests do most of the talking but he is brilliant at keeping the interviews on pace to cover all of the most important aspects of the subject/book being discussed in a relatively...Read full review »

Appreciate the preparedness of the host and his gentle but deft questioning. He listens. He has read the book and is aware of the context of their stories.

Unlike so many podcasters Erik doesn’t try to make himself the subject and he doesn’t waste 10 minutes discussing what’s he’s done since the last podcast. A pleasure to listen to and always informative.

Consistently high quality true crime content: the host patiently encourages authors to give a detailed reading of (usually) one historical case, focused on the facts and the era’s context. If the case is well known, there will be a new or deeper angle. It’s not sensationalist; the stories are...Read full review »

I have been working my way through nearly every episode. Have been a huge fan! Was listening to the episode about the Fort Worth preacher in the 1920’s and the guest got political. I have listened to a lot of different true crime podcasts available and this is one of the best I have found. I really enjoy the exploration of old timey crimes. Having authors discuss the case is a very unique way to present the info. They are the experts after all! And it is obvious that the host has read the books and is knowledgeable about the case so he can ask appropriate questions Keep ‘‘em coming.

Most Notorious is the thinking person’s true crime podcast. I love that in each episode, Eric interviews the author of a true-crime book with thoughtful questions. The host is wonderful at asking questions and getting out of the way of his guests. Rare, I think, when so many hosts want to make the podcast all about themselves and their opinions. Liking this podcast very much, as I think anyone interested in history would.
