Such a heartbreaking story, my husband and I got married and honeymooned in Mauritius in 2002 which was the most incredible moment in our lives. I can’t even imagine that at a time when you excited to start your lives together that it could be be cut short in such a shocking way. The injustice...Read full review »

Interesting & heartbreaking story. Bit rambling and not concise enough. Narrators talk over each other & sound not great. In the episode where they get back to Ireland after the injustice of the court case and start talking of the visit of Martin mcguinness in such reverent terms, I...Read full review »

Such an awful outcome for a newly married couple. It’s so clear and obvious justice was not done and it needs to be revisited to obtain justice . Very professional podcast and with plenty of detail and easy to follow the case with the information shared.

What a heartbreaking podcast that was so bravely done by those who loved Michaela! I will never forget this happening & to hear ALL that evidence it’s absolutely shocking to know these animals got away with her murder! I for one will never put my foot in Mauritius! Thinking of you all 😢

Although justice has not been served the evidence and chain of events provided will help you understand the torture and upset all her family and friends are feeling. It’s a pity there was no direction on recording this podcast, it was hard to concentrate and the audio sound echoey. Talking over each other, sounded like it was secretly filmed in a pub corner. Nevertheless a sad story and it must have been a difficult time

I see people complaining about the audio and the way this podcast has been narrated. But I would also ask those people to put themselves in John’s shoes. I think for everything he’s been through, to deliver the story as well as he does is credit to himself and Michaela. He’s a really brave man...Read full review »

We visited Mauritius last July for the 2nd time. Our first trip was awful but we’d heard such good things we gave it a 2nd chance. Halfway through I realised we were staying at the same hotel. It’s had a refit. Been relaunched and the room has been re numbered. I knew about the case and this...Read full review »

Very interesting case and but I don’t think the audio quality and they way it’s delivered is very enjoyable to listen to. I found myself losing interest many times.

I remember the shocking events when they happened and watched with interested as the trial took place. It’s fair to say the Mauritian authorities and judicial system let the families down big time. What a mid-carriage if justice this was and they should be ashamed. How to people who all the...Read full review »

Thank you for sharing your story. It certainly opened my eyes to realize the justice system that I take for granted to do the right thing is not the same all over the world. A beautiful podcast, told eloquently and clearly by Michaela’s family. It is sad and shocking that justice has not been served. I always thought I’d do to Mauritius one day, but no more. This story is so sad. This could happen to anyone of us.. justice hasn’t been done. Nobody can imagine going on a holiday and being murdered. They know who killed her and they’ve got away with it! This is basically just the living victims of the murder sitting around discussing the case with counsel and journalists. There is no new info, and by the end of the first episode you know everything that happened.

I found the podcast quite confusing to listen to which is a shame as I really wanted to follow it. Lots of talking over each other made it difficult to listen too. I listening to all of this and it seems the Mauritius justice system is inadequate. Can we crowd fund and bring a civil case against the culprits? I would be very happy to support this terrible circumstance in any way that I can to bring justice for Michaela.
