Old faves die hard
Once a go-to absolute fave, now a drudge to listen to. 20 minutes of complaining about podcasting, fame, etc followed by incoherent banter. Much like a once great tv show, I think it’s time to pack it in and stop producing a show you clearly no longer care about. Episodes feel gross now, it’s clearly an effort to make a new catch phrase (funny when natural, cringey when forced), trying to say “that’s exactly right” in an unnatural and cringey way, pushing the annoying fan cult, and generally trying to ride this cash cow til the bitter end. I understand that in the beginning, some of the ‘cute’ of this podcast related to the natural banter and the ‘I just looked this up last minute and copied from wikipedia’... but after you have a podcast network, assistants, etc there’s little excuse for that. Yes, they are busy...because this is their job that they get paid a ton for. At some point, lack of research starts to feel disrespectful - they are racking in a ton of money off the most horrible thing to happen to someone, but can’t even do the small respect of research?? (This has nothing to do with the comedy aspect of the show)..Please just stop while there’s still some good memories. I think the final “nail in the coffin” for this podcast is the most cringeworthy thing yet - my favorite weekend retreat. I’m so embarrassed that I ever recommended this podcast to anyone. I cannot facepalm hard enough about such an obvious money grab. PLEASE DONATE ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE RETREAT TO VICTIMS FUNDS INSTEAD OF YOUR POCKET, but we all know you won’t, because greed. Needless to say, unsubscribing from this mess.

I’m in the middle of listening and I love that they both like what I like!! I can’t wait to see what murders you talk about next!

This is exactly how I talk with my friends. Inappropriate murder jokes are the best.

Karen and Georgia kill it in their new podcast. Their always witty commentary make an otherwise dark topic enthralling. Less than a week after discovering MFM I'm already obsessed and awaiting a new episode.Read full review »
