Very good content, very bad sound effects
I liked the story, Jamie’s pacing, her comedic timing and delivery, and her willingness to admit where she got things wrong. It took bravery to put herself in that situation. I don’t see this as a vicious takedown of Mensa, but instead a nuanced look at what appears on balance to be a clearly problematic (and significant) aspect of a group whose existence and self-definition is in itself problematic. The sound effects are awful, but definitely worth ignoring to focus on the story.

More reviews of My Year in Mensa
Jamie Loftus has cured my anxiety and added 10 years to my life, just by existing. Listen to her podcast, you’ll lose ten pounds of dumb. It’s amaz-o-varies.
